Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) Ready to Work Inclusion Program (RWIP) Position Description Position: Employment Coordinator Location: RWIP Site Offices: - Kentville, NS - Waterloo, ON - Moose Jaw, SK - Prince Albert, SK Hours of Work: 40 hours per work week (52 weeks per year) Reports to: RWIP National Manager Salary Range: $40,000 - $44,000 annually based on contract position Benefits: Medical, dental, pension based on CCRW and insurance policies Contract timeline: August 6th, 2013 - March 31st, 2015 Contract term: Based on successful negotiation and signed agreement with Opportunities Fund, Canada Posting closure: Tuesday August 16th at 9:00am EDT. Scope and Purpose: The Employment Coordinator is responsible for working in a team setting with the Employment Outreach Specialist, focusing on coordination, leadership and guidance to the team, including any contract workers (e.g. Occupational Therapist). The Employment Coordinator is responsible for managing an active client caseload, using professional employment counselling techniques, with the goal of assisting clients with disabilities in achieving personal independence in seeking and retaining employment on a one-on-one or group setting. The Employment Coordinator works with clients in the development and achievement of an individualized Return to Work Action Plan. Follow-up support will be provided where needed, while working with the Employment Outreach Specialist to ensure employment awareness is ongoing. Accountabilities: The Employment Coordinator assumes responsibility and authority for the achievement of established site targets by the completion of the CCRW RWIP fiscal year end date of March 31, 2015. The position continuation is based on outcomes achieved, continued funding of the RWIP project through the Government of Canada and successful reapplication to the program. The program targets are established as follows:  150 Clients Served  115 eligible clients will have secured meaningful and equitable full or part time employment.  150 will receive enhanced employability  7 will have returned to school for higher education  110 sessions/events will be held with employers, of which 130 employers will participate in total  35 new tools/products will be developed General Duties: - Case manage clients with disabilities in a detailed, organized, technologically based environment, ensuring privacy, accountability and respect are upheld. Case management includes intake, assessment, interview, COPM (or other identified assessment), follow-up and support to client as required. - Ability to support clients in identifying, developing and achieving employment goals identified in the Return to Work Action Plan (RTWAP) - Ability to provide job coaching to support clients in the workplace leading to a successful working relationship - Liaise, conduct outreach and market the program with other community agencies/employers, service providers and government departments. - In conjunction with the site staff implement a quarterly site action plan designed to achieve and/or exceed desired outcomes. - Coordinate special event activities such as, training, graduation recognition, sponsorship recognition, etc. - Travel as required to complete all aspects of project implementation and client follow-up. - In conjunction with site staff the Employment Coordinator will be expected to complete all necessary office details to ensure the effective and efficient operation. - Comfort in supporting the Employment Outreach Specialist in the delivery of Awareness raising presentations, and employment meetings. - Work in tandem with the Employment Outreach Specialist to place job-ready people with disabilities back into the workforce using a Wage Subsidy. The Employment Coordinator works with clients with disabilities to obtain equitable and meaningful work placement through wage subsidy. - In compliance with CCRW and Service Canada policy, complete standard financial documentation such as invoice review and payment, expense claim reporting. All required documentation is submitted to CCRW RWIP National Manager for approval. - Manage office inventory and supplies (including purchasing and delivery of supplies to office). Qualifications: - University Degree in social sciences or related field - Case Management career counselling experience (Vocation Rehabilitation Consultant and/or experience in the vocational/career counselling field) - Familiarity with and understanding of the barriers experienced by job seekers with disabilities - Proven experience in project design and implementation - Pleasant personality with strong verbal and written communications skills in English, French or Aboriginal dialect - Innovative problem solving, organizational, marketing and public relations skills - Strong organizational skills are required - Knowledge of job accommodations with the ability to troubleshoot and ensure accommodations are successfully implemented in the workplace - Experience with vocational/academic testing/career assessments (TOWES certification as strong asset) - IT savvy relating to Office 365 & MS Office 2013. - Ability to work variable hours when necessary
